Soil becomes increasingly enriched with nitrogen from activities such as intensive agriculture, which uses nitrogen-rich artificial fertilisers, or from livestock excrements.
The results will help farmers and forest owners to choose management models that, in addition to producing food and wood, improve the ecosystem services of crops and forests.
It will do so thanks to a CREAF delegation teamed up with Alícia Pérez-Porro, CREAF scientific coordinator, Lluís Brotons, CSIC researcher at CREAF, and CREAF researchers Sergi Herrando and Daniel Villero, all of them will be in Canada from 9 to 16 December.

La Red Nacional de Vigilància Epidemiològica ha notificat 1.800 casos importats de dengue, chikungunya i zika des de el 2014. La Xarxa de Vigilància Epidemiològica de Catalunya va confirmar 700 casos d’arbovirosis importats entre 2015-2018. En el projecte liderat pel CEAB-CSIC, participen científics de la UPF, l’Institut Max Planck de Demografia, el Centre Nacional d’Epidemiologia del ISPIII i el CREAF, i es nodreix en gran part de la plataforma de ciència ciutadana Mosquit Alert.
